Creating Pages

How to Create Pages

Click on "Create Page"

You will get the following:

createpage

  1. Menu Level: 1 top level entry, 2 second level entry (sub-page), 3 third level entry (sub-sub page).
2. Insert after: the page will be inserted after the page you select from the drop-down box (note: if the previous page has sub pages, select the last of its sub pages for this field).
3. File name: the name of the html or php page. Please make sure you are entering a valid file name. Don't enter spaces in the name!. Don't enter any special character like á, ç or ø, for instance. The name must be a valid file name. Don't enter the file extension (html or php). In alternative, an external url followed by "*" (see below)
4. Menu label: The text you want to be shown in the menu.
5. Template: you can specify a different template if you have more than one available maybe to remove the news section or change the style of your page.
6. Set user access level

Hidden pages

To hide a page from the menus, you just have to add a "_" to the file name.

Then, you just have to navigate to the new page and edit it to insert your content.

Note: remember to insert new pages after the sub pages of the previous page, so that your menu tree stays consistent. You can, however, edit your menu tree from the administration menu page.

Including a link to an external page

If you want to include an external link in the menu, pointing to a page not created by it web CMS just include the url to that page appended with a "*".

Example: if you want to call http://google.com, just add as file name http://google.com*. This will tell it web CMS not to create that page but just add the menu entry pointing to that url.

VERY IMPORTANT

Once you have finished creating, editing or making any changes to your website you must ensure you select "generate" from the main settings page to update your website and make your changes visible to website viewers.
